Ajiri is a network intern at AFRUCA Safeguarding Children where she works to expand the networks reach in Africa in order to support collaboration between charities in countries of origin and destination countries. In the last 3 years, Ajiri has taken active steps to make an impact in the anti-trafficking sector in Nigeria through volunteering at DEVATOP Centre for Africa Development from 2018 to date. In addition, she obtained a masters degree in Human Trafficking, Migration and Organised Crime in 2020 through a Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Award to study in the UK. She also holds a BA in History and International Studies from the Redeemer’s University. She is passionate about the rights of the Nigerian child and the rights of women. She believes in gender equity and the importance of nation building.
Ajiri often expresses her opinion in writing which is why she participated in the TALKAM Article Competition which focused on finding solutions to sexual violence against women. Topics such as this motivate her to continue working to encourage young Nigerian women to focus on educating themselves and striving towards financial independence in order to avoid being trafficked. She believes it is important for Nigerian youths to focus on nation building, peace and stability in order to discourage irregular migration.
